Fagraea Fragans

It's scientific name, where fragans means sweet smelling. It's common name is called tembusu tree. Also named as 5 dollar tree in botanical garden, which is reported to be more than 150 years old.

It bark is deeply fissured and older trees usually have a typical U shaped branch that sticks out horzontally before sharp turn growing vertically. Although in wild they are found in lowland swampy area, they can be seen commonly as road side tree in singapore.
